Analysis of the histopathological findings of lymph node biopsies at a tertiary care centre

Background: Lymph nodes are spread throughout the body and routinely checked for abnormalities. These lymph have potential to become infected or malignant. The swelling of which abnormal in terms size and/or number is commonly known as lymphadenopathy. One most common causes lymphadenopathy observed reactive lymphadenitis followed by granulomatous lymphadenitis. For diagnosis node biopsies, excisional biopsy histopathological analysis considered ‘gold standard’. Methods: This a retrospective, descriptive cross-sectional study all patients with biopsies seen Bhaktivedanta Hospital Research Institute from January 2018 till March 2022. Histopathology reports required at were included study. Results: tuberculous accounted 251 (53.2%) total 469 cases. Tuberculous was females (68.92%) compared males (31.07%). Cancer cases 83 (17.70%) formed second (53.01%) (46.99%). Conclusions: Enlarged should undergo fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), truecut correct diagnosis. diagnostic spectrum ranges benign TB also malignancies.
